Intruders
The paintings are meant to represent a reordering of priorities. Nature is forced to give way to so much in todays world. I wished to suggest that my art takes second place to nature by making the paint on each canvas stop for the creature that had 'intruded' there. In the real world it is us and our structures and industries that are the intruders.
I also wished the paintings to present nature as an island of calm in a chaotic man made world.
The main body of each painting is expressionistic and reflects my mood when painting. I also like to use repetitive patterns to express the persistent monotony of human life in contrast to the chaos and randomness of emotion and mood.
